FAQ

Good questions.

If yours is not here, ask it on the free sample form and we will answer along with your sample.

The writing

Do I have to write anything?

No. Send us any news or offers and we handle the rest. If you have nothing new that month, we write a seasonal story for your industry and town. You approve each issue before it goes out.

Who actually writes it?

We do. Every issue is planned for your business and edited by a person who reads it start to finish before it reaches you.

Will it sound like me?

That is the goal. We learn your voice from your website, past emails and your edits. By the second or third issue most clients approve with no changes.

Can I include my own photos?

Yes, and we encourage it. Real photos of your team, your work and your place get more clicks than anything else.

Your list

Who owns my email list?

You do. We send from your own email account, so your list and history stay with you. If you leave, nothing goes with us.

What if I don't have a list yet?

We will gather the contacts you already have, from your booking system, invoices, point of sale or address book, and add a signup form to your website.

Can I email customers who never signed up?

You can email existing customers you have a relationship with, and every issue includes a clear unsubscribe link and your business address, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. We do not buy, rent or scrape lists, ever.

Will it land in spam?

We set up the authentication records (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) that mailbox providers check, keep your list clean, and send at a steady monthly rhythm. All three keep you in the inbox.

Plans and billing

Is there a contract?

No. Plans are month to month, and you can cancel any time. Towns can choose an annual plan.

What does setup include?

A one-time $250 for your custom template, list cleanup and import, sending account and spam-protection records, and a website signup form.

Do you work with towns and government?

Yes. Municipal plans start at $2,400 a year, billed annually with a purchase order if you need one. See newsletters for towns.

What does the email platform cost?

Small lists usually fit a free sending plan. Larger lists may need a paid plan, which you pay directly so the account stays in your name. We will tell you before you start.

Quality and results

Are your newsletters accessible?

Yes. Every issue uses readable type, strong contrast, real text and image descriptions. Town newsletters are built to WCAG 2.1 AA.

How will I know it is working?

A plain-English report after every issue: opens, clicks, the most popular story, and new subscribers. Pro plans add a quarterly strategy call.

How often do you send?

Once a month, which is often enough to be remembered and rare enough to be welcome. Pro plans can add urgent alerts in between.
