Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Monthly Hello aims to make this website and every newsletter we produce usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or high contrast settings. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

On this website

  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast in both light and dark mode.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip link.
  • Headings, landmarks and form labels are marked up so assistive technology can navigate them.
  • Motion is reduced when your device asks for it.

In the newsletters we send

  • Real text instead of images of text, so screen readers and translation tools can read it.
  • Descriptive alt text on every meaningful image.
  • A single column layout with a logical reading order.
  • Readable type sizes, strong contrast and descriptive link text.
  • Town and municipal newsletters are reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA before every send.
